I think like the vast majority of people you don’t understand what an economic collapse would look like. It would be a totally different world than you wise up in today. Just imagine that everything you use as money today simply doesn’t exist any more.
The government would likely try to maintain control and declare marshal law but there aren’t enough troops to controll 330 million people. You better be quick and round up all the food and water you can lay your hands on and either bug out to a secluded place, or make your hone as secure as possible and baracade yourself inside.
You can’t have the idea someone is going to come around and save you in an economic collapse because the collapse of society is likely in such an event. People will become hungry quickly as supply chains collapse. Your utilities will not work for long because there would be no way to pay workers, buy fuel, and generally support the system.
In a full economic collapse of the US, we wouldn’t be alone fir long because the failure of the US would likely lead to the collapse of the world’s economy sunse the US makes up over 1/3 of the world’s production.
An economic collapse means the entire system fails. It isn’t something a nation recovers from, and there is a chance it could happen with us being in debt more than our economy produces annually. It would happen quickly for those of us seeing it from home. Insiders may have warning but if they do they will simply be the first to head for the hills because their money is gone like ours will be.
Smaller nation who suffer a collapse can continue to function by using a sound currency to replace theirs with until they can figure out how to rework their system. Not a good thing bur not catastrophic like it would be in the US.
I can’t do justice to how bad it could be first particularly in our cities. A couple million people running out of food and water can really get nasty in a hurry and since cities have no way of feeding themselves they will fan our for hundreds of miles and if it happens to be winter even worse.
