Stay away from food riots and civil unrest. Sounds like pretty obvious advice, but unless you plan for this, you may very well find yourself fighting in line at the grocery stores with everyone else.
This means having at least 2 to 3 weeks’ worth of food on hand, which is easy to do. Don’t stockpile five cases of beans, like many people regretted doing after the Y2K fiasco turned out to be a dud. Simply buy extra non-perishable food that you are used to eating already. Double up on groceries for 3 weeks and you will be prepared.

Think about water. If the collapse is really bad, basic utility services could be interrupted. Not only that, but maintenance on infrastructure will suffer and repairs of broken water mains could take much longer. Having water stored is a very easy and wise thing to do.

Be prepared 24/7 so that even if a disaster hits when you are away from home, you will not be caught unprepared. Think about the places where you spend the most time. You spend a lot of time at work. How hard would it be to have some things stored there?
The best way to be prepared no matter where you are is to have an emergency kit in your car. That way, if the economic collapse so many are concerned about happens 2024, you will be prepared whether you are at home or in your car when things turn bad.
